Uniportal VATS Training in Shanghai – video summary from the May 2017 edition
Since 2015 we organize the Uniportal VATS Training in Shanghai, that came to life thanks to our cooperation with a visionary surgeon and a facility that is the biggest thoracic center in the world.
The training programme is being led by Dr. Diego Gonzalez Rivas, Thoracic surgeon and creator of the uniportal VATS surgery procedure.
The course wouldn’t have a place to grow into this amazing learning opportunity if it weren’t for the cooperation with the Thoracoscopic Department of the biggest Pulmonary Hospital in China.
The idea
The idea of the Uniportal VATS Training is to present surgeons from all around the world an opportunity to learn the newest surgery approaches in the Thoracoscopic Department of the biggest Pulmonary Hospital in China.
The training lasts 2 weeks and presents a one-of-a-kind opportunity for surgeons from all around the world to learn the Uniportal VATS procedure from experienced surgeons.
Six time a year, a group of around 20 participants from all around the world gathers in Shanghai and spends most of their time at the Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital to observe and take part in wetlabs.
